I am Lynn Scott(Winkelman). My story is that 7 brothers came to the USA and spread out. My family starts with John Winkelman b1788 d1839 PA. then Frederick Winkelman b1811 PA d1882 PA, John Franklin Winkelman b1833 d1906 then my great grandfather Jake Winkelman b1868 d1952. It is said that Jake stayed with his grandfather Frederick Winkelman who owned a mercantile in Kansas then rented an entire train to move his store and family to OK. the rest of my family is from OK. Walt - sorry to say I don't recognize any times in your family. I am Wendy Winkelman and I grew up in Richfield, MN and my father Paul is from Pequot Lakes, MN. I just moved to Phoenix a month ago. But my family immigrated from Germany to Buffalo, NY then on to ND and then to MN. My immigrants name was Fredrick Winkelman. Hopefully, you will get someone to help you with your search. Have you pulled your Dad's death certificate? See if Parents are listed? Have you checked the census records for 1920? 1930? You may be able to see his parents.
