There is a will of one William Sharp signed 17 Feb 1678 probated 28 May 1679
in Northampton Co, Va. In the will he mentions his dau. Hannah and son
Francis. Many people belive that this William is the father of Francis
Sharpe that m. #1 Comfort Fitchett (dau of Joshua and Esther) and then #2
Elizabeth (dau of Joshua and Esther). Others think he might have been the
son of one Francis Sharp that was transported in 1654 to Va.
What I am going to do is present some circumstantial evidence for
discussion to support that William Sharp is the father of our Francis that
married the Fitchett girls.

1) William Sharps will was wittn. by Bartholomew Hieron, DANIEL NEECH,
Sarah Marian Sharpe and William Planter....The will mentions Children Hannah
and Francis Sharpe, a John Marian, son in law George Owen and William's wife
Margaret. No reference was made to children being underage, so presume that
all were over 21....could the above Sarah Marian Sharp been the first wife of
Francis?
2) DANIEL NEECH lived in the N5/N9 area of Northampton Co., Va. His will
of 1703 . In this will he leaves land to two grandsons Neech Eyre and for
want of his heirs to his brother Thomas Eyre...he describeds the land that he
bought of Thomas Eyre, 110 acres of land whereon Francis Harper decd. lived,
except for 40 acres which was sold to JOSHUA FITCHETT!!!!...Edward Garris,
son of Amos the first was a witn. of Neech's will........
3) Joshua died in 1709, and widow Esther is on the 1710 tax list for N9
tract.

Therefore:
1) Daniel Neech was a neighbor of William Sharpe, having witn. Sharp's will
2) Daniel Neech sold part of his land to Joshua Fitchett
3) Sharp and Fitchett lived close to each other. Close enough for Francis to
have meet the Fitchett sisters.
Well, what does the rest of the group think of this?
Christine Tomlin?
