Trish,
As the two counties of Anne Arundle and Calvert are adjacent it is very
likely that the families are related and both counties were St Marys before
1650. It sure would have been nice if at some point the Widdrintons changed
their name in court so we would now have a record of it. We can not count
on the census people to get their names right and it seems even the court
clerks have problems when there are different spelling within the same
document.
