A piece of negative information, I'm afraid, There was no Richard Hughes
registered in the Amlwch district (which includes Llanbadrig) between 1841
and 1844. It might mean that he wasn't registered, this would be quite legal
at that time. Perhaps he was registered in another district, you didn't say
where he was born. Sorry not much help, we have only managed to index 9 of
the 332 civil birth registers and Amlwch 1 & 2 are 2 of these, so was easily

I have an 1851 census for David Hughes and wife Anne. David was a tailor at
this time aged 68 and living at Pentycoli Bach, Llanbadrig, Anglesey. With
this couple was grandson Richard Hughes aged 9 years. However I have no
idea who Richard's parents were as he wouldn't have been born at the time of
the previous census. I am now hoping that someone could help solve this
mystery with a copy of the 1861 census either for Richard who would be about
19 (born in Amlwch) or David and/or Anne who would have been in their 70's
by 1861. I imagine the name Richard Hughes would have been very popular so
maybe the mystery cannot be resolved. I have received unprecedented help
from this list so thank you all for your patience.
