Well, I'll jump in.
(By the way, this isn't the only list that's asleep right now, my main area of interest wls-pem is in a coma)
I haven't written to this list before, because I have so little information on the person my aunt is looking for, that I'm embarassed.
Name: James Hugh Williams, b. abt 1910-13, possibly from Pwllheli, was billeted ca. 1940 with her parents at Shoreham-by-the sea, Sussex. Royal Navy.

Other question: I see from maps that Caernarfonshire is a county, so what's Gwynedd, and why a separate list?

Also, to Marjorie in NV,USA, I used to have AOL, and had periodic periods of not getting mail, not just from lists but other mail too. Never knew of a problem sending tho. Anyway, that's one reason I switched to Yahoo, which has some annoying (to me) features, but their software is not interfering with other programs I have anyway.

Hi,

the easiest way of checking to see whether you are receiving postings or
whether the list is simply quiet is to check the archives. The link is:

http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/WLS-CAERNARFONSHIRE/

But, like Anglesey, the Caernarfonshire list is a quiet one. At the risk of
treading on the admins toes, if subscribed listers posted their interests a
bit more often, and informed of progress made, that would make the list a
bit more active. I must admit, I am also guilty of not posting to the CAE
list very often.

Another possibility would be to list the resources you have access to and
whether you would be willing to do look ups for others.

Who's going to start the ball rolling?
