I have been researching the Irish names of Kenny and Connaughton in
Ireland. Yesterday, in the 1881 Wales Census on Ancestry.com, I
discovered numerous Irish Connaughton men and women and also a Michael
Kenny in Wrexham Regis, Denbigh. There were many other Irish in that
place. They were in diverse occupations such as Pavior, Cook, Plumber,
Coal Merchant and General Laborer. I would like to find out more about
this community and what drew the Irish there in the second half of the
19th century.
