Good Morning All,
I am researching my 5GG William Glynne Griffith (1775-1842), whose son,
James Glynne Griffith (1820-1887) joined the East India Co. in 1839.
I am stuck at William and am looking for clues as to where William Glynne
Griffith and his wife Catherine Longville White (c1790-c1841) originated.
They were married circa 1813.
I have located letters on the Rhagorol Database of Gwynedd Archives that
refer to William Glynne Griffith of Bodegroes, Pwllheli. One letter
(XD2/19265) makes reference to "Jim", bound for China in 1840. This
reference looks promising.
This William Glynne Griffith was principal agent to Lord Newborough from
1823 to 1827. In letter XD2/15727, reference is made to a paragraph from
the North Wales Gazette (circa 6 Feb 1824) which refers to the work carried
out by WGG for Lord Newborough. These references also look promising too.
If you can help me with the above research, I would be very pleased.
Happy researching!
Donna Holmes, Singapore.
