Hello, Montgomeryshire.
As a new lister, I'd like to state my interests, which are as follows:
For many years I've been searching for my grandfather, ALFRED WILSON. I 've
been told that he moved from Wales to Oldham, Lancashire, around 1890, and
apart from returning to attend a funeral during WW1, never returned. His
father's name on his marriage certificate was ROBERT WILSON - his mother's
name is thought to be JANE EVANS - and he had brothers; ROBERT, WILLIAM,
OWEN, EVAN, IVOR, but some of these were called WILSON, some EVANS. I have
just obtained copies of his Army Papers (on the second attempt - I applied
years ago and was told they had been destroyed) which tell me he was born in
LLANGYNOG in 1877.
If anyone can help me to trace the family of ALFRED WILSON - or is it ALFRED
EVANS? - I would be pleased to hear from them.
thank you,
David Nuttall
