Looking for information on the Thomas Wood who died in Hyde County NC
c1740. His will was dated 19 July 1740 and probated in December 1740.
As taken from the abstract, in the will he mentions a Scarbrough
(plantation); sons Richard, Abraham and Isaac; daughters: Rachel and
Sarah Wood; wife and executrix: Naomi. Witnesses: Uriah Collins, Lemuel
Whyn, Martha Whyn. Clerk of the Court: W. Barrow.

Isaac evidently remained in Hyde county, his will being probated there
c1797. Richard was enumerated on the 1748 Hyde County Tithables, then I
can find no further record of him. As for Abraham, I believe he "might
be" the Abraham who died in Surry County NC c1788. There is also a
Richard Wood enumerated on a 1786 Surry County NC Tax List, so perhaps
this "might be" the Richard who is the son of Thomas and Naomi.
