Subject: My Wooten Line - LONG POST
Date: Tue, 1 Sep 1998 16:01:19 EDT
Okay, here goes ---- with the caveat that this is a WORKING COPY and not all
of it has been verified, although most of it has been. Gathering this has
been a painstaking process beginning with my great grandmother (Myrtle)'s
death certificate and then my great great grandmother (Georgia)'s death
certificate. Georgia's mother's name was almost illegible, but a very kind
person answered a query I posted that supplied me with the marriage record
(and actual name) I needed. I received wonderful help from look up volunteers
in Wayne County, West Virginia and from the Wayne County, West Virginia
mailing list which was recently formed, as well as from others. Some
information I gathered on my own searching census records, etc. I hope that
those who feel they have no hope of finding their elusive ancestors will take
heart because this line was one I thought impossible, but it has proved to be
quite fruitful. I haven't yet tied Silas to parents, but am working on a
possible theory that he descended from the Silas Wootton I found in the
Complete Book of Emigrants. I hope this all makes sense as I can't seem to
find the way to put the reference notes where I need them! If you see
anything that needs corrected or added to, please let me know.
Hope this helps someone connect!
Sincerely,
Donna
P.S. I did not include Georgia's second marriage in this as there were no
children from the union so it doesn't enter in directly. Following her second
marriage, she reverted to the use of her first married name of Isaacs. There
was a big scandal involving her second husband so she must have wanted to put
the marriage behind her.

the Lawrence County, Kentucky Cemetery Book Volume 3 by Louisa Chapter DAR.
It was also compiled from sources listed individually with his various

FIND WHERE I PUT IT!)
Reference Note 110
This has not yet been verified, but seems a good possibility as his wife's
name was Anna and he is in the same area. However, a list found of his
children does not include her. I think the list was incomplete. This is just
a working theory at the moment.
