Jean McCrae, eldest child of David and Mareon, was born on 10 January 1819 in Kells Parish, Kirkcudbrightshire. Scotland.

On 10 November 1837 in Balmaghie Parish she was married to Samuel Duncan Robertson (b.18 July 1815), Kirkcudbrightshire.Scotland

They emigrated to Ontario Canada in 1855.
In April 1861 they were living on 200 acres at Lt.20, Conc.2, Bayham Township, Elgin County, near Port Burwell,
By 1863 Jean, Samuel and the children were living in Middleton Township, Norfolk County, immediately south of Tillsonburg, where Samuel was a toll gate-keeper.

Samuel died there on 15 May 1878. buried in Tillsonburg Cemetery.

By April of 1881 Jean was living with her widowed mother in Guelph Ontario, Canada and after her mother died (1893) Jean lived with her nephew William McCrae and his family at 'Burnside' at Lt.6, Conc.1E, Guelph Township, which to-day is the north-west corner of Willow Road and the Hanlon Expressway.

She died in St. Joseph's Hospital on 12 December 1905 and the funeral was from William's home but it is not known where she is buried.
They had five children.
