Marion McCrae, eldest child of John and Elizabeth McCrae, was born on 14 June 1846 and baptized on 22 July in Girthon Parish, Kirkcudbrightshire.Scotland.

She emigrated in 1852 with her parents and brother, living for about 1 year in Guelph, Canada, then in 1853 moved to Huron County. Canada.

On 04 July 1872 in Brussels, Morris Township, she married Angus Lamont (b.24 May 1839 in Torasy Parish, Island of Mull, Scotland), son of John (b.October 1796; d.05 December 1870) and Catherine (b.1808; d.09 July 1870) Lamont.

[ The Lamont family had emigrated from Isle of Mull, Argyllshire, Scotland in 1852 to Pickering Township, Durham County, Canada, and they moved to Grey Township in 1855, settling on Conc.7. ] Marion and Angus lived on the Lamont family homestead, named "Duart Farm", which was located at Lt.13, Conc.7, between Brussels and Ethel and, living with them in 1901 as he had for at least the previous 30 years, was Angus' brother Donald (b.04 September 1850).

Angus died on 17 August 1910 and, after being in failing health for 18 months,

Marion died on 21 January 1925; they are buried in Section D in Brussels Cemetery.
They had five children.
