Robert Lee Johnson Sr.

"I would like the memory of me to be a happy one. I would like to leave an
afterglow of smiles when my life is done. I would like the tears of those
who grieve to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave". MR. ROBERT
LEE JOHNSON SR., one of Jehovah's Witnesses, departed this life on May 5,
2005 from a courageous battle with metastatic prostate cancer. He was born
in Oakwood, TX (Shiloh Community) on August 7, 1930, to Laymon Sr. and
Chinesa Johnson. His family moved to Houston TX in 1941. Robert was a
self-employed bricklayer for over 45 years. He was an avid fisherman. In
Jehovah's care, he leaves a loving and devoted wife, Vernita Jasper Johnson;
6 sons; Robert Johnson Jr., Darrell Johnson, Ronald Johnson (Yolanda),
Gerald Johnson (Fanny), Michael Johnson (Vanessa), and Patrick Johnson
(Kironda); 4 daughters, Gwendolyn Johnson-Carmier, Carmen Johnson-Atilee,
Rhonda Johnson and Pamela Johnson-Edwards (Luvert); 17 grandchildren; 5
great grandchildren; 2 sisters, 4 brothers and many relatives and friends.
Thanks to Vitas Hospice staff, especially Lori Key; Elise Green & Tony
Jagin. Cremation provided by O.W. Wiley Mortuary.
