Ethel Christine Gembler Ellinghausen, 98, passed away Thursday, May 12,
2005, in San Marcos, Texas. She was born March 11, 1907, in San Antonio,
Texas, to Annie Ackerman Gembler and John Fritz Gembler, and was a graduate
of Brackenridge High School in that city. In 1926, she married Walter August
("Dutch") Ellinghausen of Floresville, Texas. They moved to Mexico,
Venezuela, and Curacao, where Mr. Ellinghausen was chief accountant for
Royal Dutch Shell Oil Company. On their retirement, they moved to their
ranch near Wimberley, Texas. She is predeceased by her husband; her daughter
Anita Christine Ellinghausen Johnson; and her brother Clinton Gembler. She
is survived by a son Robert H. Ellinghausen of Tularosa, New Mexico (wife,
Ann), and their children Laurie Marie Ellinghausen of Kansas City, Missouri;
and David John Ellinghausen of Austin, Texas; and by the children of her
daughter Anita: Elizabeth Christine Johnson Karnafel (husband Paul) of
Cypress, California; Eric Johnson of Pomona, California; and Elizabeth's
children Daniel Karnafel, Katrina Karnafel, and Joseph Karnafel. A Memorial
Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2005, at Thomason Funeral
Home Chapel in San Marcos. Mrs. Ellinghausen will be laid to rest in the
Wimberley Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Thomason Funeral Home,
