Clifford (Chick) E. Jackson passed into the arms of the Lord on May 10, 2005
in Mooresville, Indiana. He was born September 13, 1910 to Edmond and
Estelle (Washer) Jackson, in DuPont, Indiana. His wife, Mary Helen
(Underwood) Jackson preceded him in death in 1994. Four sons, Harry
Cardinal, Jr., Arthur Cardinal, Cifford H. Jackson, Samuel E. Jackson and
two daughters, Marlene Engle and Shirley Stanley also preceded him in death.
He was the last survivor of his siblings. He was a talented stone mason
whose skill and expertise were much sought after and kept him working until
the age of 76. In the late 1930's, his band, Eagle Creek Ramblers was
showcased on the local radio stations in San Antonio. He loved his family,
fishing, playing his guitar, singing and Coors beer. He is survived by eight
daughters, Betty Hiter, Indianapolis, Ind., Sharon Bell, Austin, Pam Avery,
Spencer, Ind., Cindy Lane, Mooresville, Ind., Beverly Jackson, Indiana,
Venus O'Kane, San Antonio, Norma Jean Jackson, and Jeanette Jackson. He has
19 grandchildren and several great, great-great and great-great-great
grandchildren. Graveside services 1:00 pm Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at Mission
Burial Park South, with Bishop Tom Flanagan celebrant. The family wishes to
express our gratitude to Dr. Javier Bocanegra and his staff for their
excellent medical care over the years.
