Sue Edwards Madera

SUE EDWARDS MADERA: born June 14, 1938 in Arkansas died July 10, 2005 at her
home outside of Mabank, Texas. Being no stranger to a fight, Sue fought a
courageous battle with cancer with the same passion and fortitude that
fueled her life. She was a beloved sister of Peggy Butts and Teresa Lewis. A
dear aunt of Jackie and Robert Alvarez, Terry Sealey, Michael Butts, Herb
Butts, Tim Butts, and great aunt of Jaden Alvarez. Stepmother of Debbie
Hanson, step-grandmother of Ben and Brian Hanson and "Memaw" to the Tovar
families. Her parents Ira Edwin Edwards and Julia Lola Wingfield Edwards, as
well as her husband, Elbert "Jack" Madera who passed away on November 29,
2004, predeceased Sue. Sue will be missed and remembered by many as a lover
of the arts, which was ignited early in her life, through working in the
film industry. Later in life she found a great amount of joy and
accomplishment by growing and nurturing Lazy M Ranch, her beloved home with
her husband for 24 years. As a testament to her individuality and love for
animals she raised and showed miniature horses as though they were an
extension of her family. In the end all of our legacies are limited; however
it is the aggregate that matters. Just as the substance of each person is
made of the parts of many other lives, her role in the lives of her family
and friends will be kept close to their hearts. For those that knew her best
her departure instantly made the world a lonelier place. Funeral Services
will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2005 in Northway Christian Church,
7202 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas (Just across the street from
Sparkman/Hillcrest). Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
