Ernesto G. Flores

LA MARQUE,TX - Ernesto G. Flores, 90, of La Marque, beloved husband, father,
grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother-in-law, was called home to his
Lord on Sunday, July 3, 2005, following a battle with cancer. The family
will receive visitors after 5 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2005, at Malloy and
Son Funeral Home in Galveston TX. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. In his
honor, a mass will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic
Church, 1224 Cedar in La Marque, with interment following at Mt. Olivet
Cemetery in Dickinson TX.

Ernesto was born on August 5, 1914, to Adolph and Jesusita Flores in Eagle
Pass, Texas. He married his wife, Lucille, on December 26, 1945, and
together they dedicated their lives to raising a family of eight children in
Galveston. Ernesto always worked hard to support his family, and he was most
proud of his past jobs as a painter and furniture store worker. He retired
from the City of Galveston in 1980. In 1989, he and his wife purchased a
home in La Marque, where they spent their last years together.

Ernesto had a passion for playing dominoes, and usually was the winner in
any match. His trademark saying was 'a nickel is a nickel' as his 5 pointers
brought him to many victories. Other things he loved included family
gatherings, going fishing, watching 'The Price is Right' and 'Wheel of
Fortune' on TV, cutting grass, going to movies, lying in his hammock, eating
Mexican food at Pancho's, and mostly spending time at home with his beloved
wife, who predeceased him, and their dog, Mickey. He was a devout Catholic
and a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church of La Marque.

He will be greatly missed by his loving children and their spouses, Lucille
Gonzalez, Christina and Ron Brown, Linda and Jim Ford, Mary and Ted Bryan,
Ernie and Paul Millo, Ernest and Linda Flores, Fran Roff, and Joe and Carol
Flores; his brothers-in-law, Fred Moeller and Walter Moeller and wife,

Moeller, for his faithfulness to his brother-in-law and 'best friend, Ernest'
and the many hours of happiness he gave him playing dominoes, particularly
after Ernest's wife died. Memorials may be made in Ernest's name to Vitas
Continuous Care Hospice Team, 4828 Loop Central, Bldg. 3, Suite 890,
Houston, TX. 77081.
