NEWTON WOMAN KILLED IN WRECK NEAR CLAYTON

A newton woman was killed early Tuesday morning near Clayton.
Pamela K. Sellers, 41, was traveling southbound on Highway 51 when the
vehicle she was driving ran off the road and struck a guard rail about two
miles south of Clayton.
She was ejected from the vehicle, and according to troopers, was not wearing
a seat belt.
Trooper John Helms responded to the accident about 4 a.m. after a passing
motorist, who noticed skid marks on the highway, notified authorities.
Barbour County Coroner Chip Chapman pronounced her dead at 7:15 a.m. Cause
of death, he said, was a blunt forced trauma to the head, neck and chest.
Officers believe Ms. Sellers was enroute to work at Flowers Hospital in
Dothan where she was a nurse. It is speculated that she stayed with a friend
overnight explaining her traveling on Highway 51.
She was dressed in her "scrubs" uniform. Byrd Funeral Home in Dothan is in
charge of Funeral Arrangements.
