RATCLIFFE,
ROBERT H. "BOB," age 71 of Rockwall, TX, passed away July 27, 2005, in
Dallas, TX. He was born March 18, 1934, in Evanston, IL, to Henry and Mary
(Connelly) Ratcliffe. Mr. Ratcliffe received a Bachelor of Arts degree from
Loyola University in Chicago, IL, and a Masters degree in history from
DePaul University, also in Chicago. He continued his studies at Northwestern
University in Evanston, IL, where he received his Doctorate in social
studies and education. A recipient of the Distinguished Alumni award from
DePaul University, Dr. Ratcliffe was a teacher, an administrator in
education, and author of 63 books. He was also a member of Our Lady of the
Lake Catholic Church in Rockwall, TX.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years: Kathleen Ratcliffe of Rockwall, TX;
daughters: Kathleen Ratcliffe of New Orleans, LA, Sharon Herron & husband
William of Chicago, IL, and Pamela von Jouanne & husband Roger of Madison,
AL; sons: Robert H. Ratcliffe, Jr. of Mesquite, TX, Laurence Ratcliffe of
Rockwall, TX, and John Ratcliffe & wife Michele of Heath, TX; 9
grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his
parents and one sister.

Funeral services will be held 10:30am, Saturday, July 30, 2005, at Rest
Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to
the funeral from 9:00 to 10:30am. Memorial contributions may be made to the
Alzheimer's Association, 2910 Swiss Avenue, Dallas, TX, 75204.
