SILVA, Susan
Died in Sacramento November 21, 2005 after a long series of difficult
unforgiving illnesses. She was born in Philadelphia on April 20, 1936 to the
late Arthur MacNicholl and May MacNicholl, who survives her. She leaves her
husband Jerald, Sacramento, son David and his wife Kathy, Elk Grove, their
son Stephen (U.S.A.F.), Kuwait; and their son James, Elk Grove. She leaves
her son Peter and former wife Connie and their children Natalie and Riley,
Santa Cruz. She leaves her son Thomas and his wife Ina, San Francisco. She
leaves her brother Robert and his wife Mary and their three sons Peter,
James and Robert, Roseville. She leaves her brother James and his wife Sara,
Annapolis, MD. She also leaves devoted friends Lynne Berman, Los Angeles;
Bonnie Ford, Sacramento; Patricia Nelson, El Dorado Hills; Maria Stefanou,
Lodi; and David Weide, Las Vegas. She has lived most of her life since 1945
in Sacramento when she and her mother came to California to join her father
who had been stationed at McClellan Field when the war ended. She attended
Marshall Elementary School and McClatchy High School (1954) and Sacramento
City College. She was an avid reader and collector of books and she was a
book seller at Levinson's Book Store for many years. She spent years writing
humor articles which were published in several journals including The Los
Angeles Times and Performing Arts Magazine. She also wrote two unpublished
books. She was amazingly smart and tremendously funny and will be very much
missed. She had become very private over the years and, appropriately, there
will be a private memorial gathering.
