John "J.E." Whirley

Bonham- John J.E. Whirley, age 78, of Telephone, TX passed away Dec. 7 at
Northeast Medical Center in Bonham, TX. Chapel services were held at 10:30
a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.
Officiating will be Bro. Carl Dye. Burial was at Laurel Land Cemetery in
Dallas, Texas at 2 p.m. He was born on Nov. 15, 1927 north of Windom, Texas
to the late Buck & Mary Whirley. He married George Ann Hulsey in April of
1950 in Bonham, Texas. He retired U.S. Air Force in 1969 with full honors.

He is survived by wife George Ann Whirley of Telephone, TX; daughter Judy
Taylor & husband Dave from Mansfield, TX, daughter Sheila Hogue & husband
Doug of Garland, TX; son Keith Whirley of Haltom City, TX, son Greg Whirley
& wife Kim Whirley of Ivanhoe, TX; sister Evelyn Bertram & husband Doyle of
Bonham, TX; sister Frances Vaugh & husband Jimmy of Waxahachie, TX; brother
Carl Whirley & wife Jean of Orvilla, TX; 9 grandchildren & 2 great
grandchildren. Family received friends 7-8 p.m. Friday, December 9 at
Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham.
