Philip Gary Davis of Round Rock, Texas, died Monday, October 3, 2005 at the
age of 67 years. Phil was born on November 8, 1937, in Georgetown, Texas.
Phil worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone from 1957 until his retirement
in 1991. Phil was a member of the Westside Church of Christ in Round Rock.
Phil's passion for the Texas Longhorns was exceeded only by his love for God
and his family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Rae Davis; his
father, Dewey Robinson Davis; and sister, Marlene Barnes. He is survived by
his wife of 46 years, Jalane Davis; daughter Jodie and her husband, Randy
Brown of Victoria, Texas; son Darrell Davis and his wife, Paula, of Tacoma,
Washington; daughter Brenda and her husband, David, of Waxahachie, Texas;
brother, Ronnie Davis of Del Valle, Texas; and sister, Kathleen Walkden of
Langley, British Columbia, Canada. Phil was "Papaw" to seven grandchildren:
Heather and Eric Brown; Carter and Clayton Davis; Micah, Levi and Caleb
Masters. Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Taylor, Jerry Jarrard, George
Bell, Frank Barksdale, Bob Berry, Lee Jackson, Carter Davis, Clayton Davis,
and Eric Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Levi Masters and Caleb Masters.
Services will be held at the Westside Church of Christ, 3300 FM 1431, Round
Rock, Texas, Thursday morning, October 6, 2005, at 10:00 a.m., with Noel
Whitlock and P.J. Hicks officiating. Arrangements under the direction of
Beck Funeral Home, Cedar Park/Leander, 259-1610
