Mrs. Melba Byers
February 21, 1931 - April 22, 2005
BYERS, MELBA Born February 21, 1931 in Whitewright, Texas and passed away
April 22, 2005 in Tyler, Texas. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother
and friend. She loved to sew and do many types of needlework. She was an
avid gardener. She lived in Irving and worked for Irving ISD for many years.
When she retired, they lived in Greenville for several years and then moved
to Tyler, where she lived for the past 12 years. She was a very nurturing
and caring person. Survived by her husband, William Byers; daughter, Sherry
Welch; son-in-law, Kenneth Welch; grandson, Matthew Welch; granddaughter,
Shannon Welch; sister, Liz Cole; brother-in-law, Paul Cole; nieces, Cindy
Williamson and Gail Cole; nephew, Blake Cole; brother-in-law and wife, Jerry
and Trenell Byers; nephews, James Byers and Jeff Byers; several great nieces
and nephews. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, April 25, 2005 at
Restland Abbey Chapel. Visitation to be held prior to service at chapel. In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8900
Carpenter Freeway, Dallas, TX 75247.
