James Thomas Boydston, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend,
died in an automobile accident on Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at the age
of 50. He was born on March 16, 1955 at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin,
Texas, and was the son of Joan Murray Boydston and the late James Neal
Boydston. Jim graduated from Georgetown High School in 1973, and after
receiving training through the Austin State School, worked as a radiological
technologist in Austin and Georgetown for several years. Jim married Fran
Averill, of Dallas, on September 4, 1982, and they made their home in
Austin. They were blessed in 1988 with daughter, Elaine, and in 1991 with
son, Matthew. Jim began selling medical supplies and equipment in 1984;
however, he actually began his sales career at the age of 12 as a "paper
boy", and received his first sales award at that time: a new bicycle. He
worked as a medical sales representative for PSS / Physicians Sales and
Service since 1989. He is survived by his wife, Fran, his daughter, Elaine
and his son, Matthew, of Austin; his mother Joan Boydston, of Georgetown;
his sister Karen Leschber and her husband Doug, of Georgetown; his
sister-in- law Anne Averill, of San Francisco; his brother-in-law Joe
Averill and his wife Nancy, of McAllen; one niece, three nephews, one
great-nephew, two aunts, one uncle, many cousins and many dear friends. Jim
was a devoted family man, honest and dependable businessman, and true
friend. He loved nothing more than spending time at home with his family,
preferably while watching Longhorn football, after working in the yard -
except for summer family vacations at South Padre Island. His kind spirit,
good nature and smiling face will be missed by all that knew him. A memorial
service celebrating Jim's life will be held at 11:00 on Monday, December 5,
2005, at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 14311 Wells Port Drive, at the
corner of Wells Branch Parkway, in Austin. In lieu of flowers, contributions
may be made to the Boydston Education Fund, and mailed to 12407 North Mopac
Expwy, suite 100-248, Austin, TX 78758.
