Jimmy Barker


Services for Jimmy Roy Barker, 66, of Lubbock TX will be at 1 p.m. Monday,
Dec. 19, 2005 in Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with Rev. Jon Sharp officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest-haven Memorial Park under the direction of
Resthaven Funeral Home.


Mr. Barker passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2005 at his residence in Lubbock.


Jimmy was born Oct. 29, 1939 to the late Ray C., Sr. and Naomi Lee Barker in
Marlow, Oklahoma. He was raised in the Ft. Worth area. In 1974 he moved to
Kermit and went to work for Oxy U.S.A. and later was transferred to
Levelland. He married Wanda Murphy Feb. 21, 1975 in Kermit TX. She preceded
him in death April 1, 2000. Jimmy retired in 1999 and moved to Lubbock TX.


Jimmy is preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.


Surviving Jimmy are five sisters: Erma Gardner of Orange CA, Jean Foreman of
Lubbock, Betty Gossett, Lois Boyd, and Judy Bean, all of Irving, and
numerous nephews and nieces who all have fond memories of him.


The family suggests memorials be sent to American Diabetes Assn. 8008 Slide
Road, Lubbock, 79424.


The family will receive friends from 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
