Our beloved Aunt Roberta!!!!!There are so many special things I remember
about Aunt Roberta..She was everything I admired in a woman..She had class,
she always made you feel special when you were with her. She was a great
wife and mother and she was so proud of all her grandchildren. Her heart was
pure and kind and she had a beautiful smile that greeted you when you came
to see her and Giggy. Roberta and Giggy!!!!What a special couple. Now they
are both gone but we all know they are together with our Lord Jesus in
Heaven. HOW WONDERFUL!!!!! We all will miss you, sweet Aunt Berta, but you
are in the company of angels now and I know that is where you want to be.
And though you will be missed we look forward to seeing your sweet face
again, and will always remember how special you were.

Love,
Bill and Barbara Lightfoot

Born: 12/12/1919 in Coleman County in the Mount View area north of the town
of Coleman.

Moved to San Antonio with her family about 1923. Relocated to Pasadena
Street in Los Angeles Heights in 1925.

Daughter of William Robert Harris and Nellie Almeda Baker Harris.

Attended Ben Franklin Elementary School. Her class named the school.

Graduated from Edison High School in 1937.

Married John Henry Arnold 04/06/1940.

Their life was blessed with one son, Gary, who arrived in 1951.

Worked for Korotkin Furniture Co. 1937-1945.

Long time member of the West Avenue church of Christ.

Wanted to be remembered as, "a good person, kind, gentle, fun, happy and for
making great tacos."

Will be remembered for being available for advice and counsel when asked...
for her wisdom... for her happy countenance especially her laugh... for her
prayers for others... for her "others first" attitude... for her love for
her husband, son, grand children, great grandchildren, parents, siblings,
their children, their children's children and their children's children's
children... for not returning evil for evil but rather good for evil. SHE
WILL BE MISSED and she WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

Dear Gary, Chigger and Family,

We are so saddened by the earthly loss of Berta, but we rejoice that she is
finally where she longed to be . . . with her Lord and back with John. We
loved John and Berta so much and were blessed to have been a brother and
sister in Christ to them.

Our prayers are with you during this time . . .

Mother,

Your loving and caring spirit for family, friends, and The Church have been
the traits that I have tried to pattern my life around. Especially your
tireless devotion to dad, your life long partner. The two of you, together,
were truly partners. I know you were looking forward to moving into our new
house, but I think your love and devotion to dad drew you to be with him,
instead.
I will miss all the behind the scenes things that you made sure were taken
care of, like pecan squares, tacos on a regular basis and Blue Bell ice
cream in the freezer. That was your way of doing things, always a servant,
never served, a true care giver, and never wanting to be a burden.
Now you are at peace and rest. Your final struggle is over and you and dad
are together again, this time forever. The two of you are together with
those who have gone on before you.
The Lord's hand made sure that I was raised by such loving and caring
parents. Parents that gave me good values and pointed me towards the Truth.
It is an honor and privilege to be called your son.
Now that you both have departed this life, I have only the examples you have
shown me to guide me. I will no longer be able to ask your opinion of
things. For as King David said in II Samuel 12 : 23, ..." I shall go to him,
but he shall not return to me." May I live my life in such a way that I may
join you both, along with those that have gone before you, in Heaven,
forever.

Dear Gary and Chigger,
Our hearts are saddened upon hearing of your mothers's passing. We have so
many fond remembrances of her especially from West Ave. The girls, Heidi,
Jennifer and Wendy send their regards to you and your family. She fought a
battle with her disease, and as a nurse I wish medical science could have
done more. We will keep you in our prayers at this difficult time.

In Him,
