Ross E. Weiser
DODGE CITY- Ross E. Weiser, 74, died April 5, 2000 at his home in Dodge
City, Kansas.
He was born April 29, 1925 at Albert, Kansas, the son of John A. and Edith
Quimbey Weiser. A Dodge City resident since 1947, moving from Albert, he was
a retired carpenter.
He served in the United States Navy during WWII.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral and Howard Gottscall VFW Post #
1714 both of Dodge City.
On October 7, 1946 he married Cleona Mae Kasselman. She died September 30,
1997.
Survivors include: 2 sons, Steve Weiser, Canon City, CO and David Weiser,
Dodge City; 4 daughters, Sharon Culver, Virginia Beach, VA, Patsy Peterson,
Aurora, IL, Linda Thomas, Newton, KS, and Connie Bowen, Peabody, KS; 3
brothers Sid Weiser , Vista, CA, Jimmy Weiser, Lufkin, TX and John Weiser,
Ulysses, KS; 6 sisters, Betty Donham, Baton Rouge, LA, Mary Ellen Sumpter,
Reydon, OK, Bonnie Rall, Loomis, NE, Ada Benson and Patty Patton both of
Dodge City and Polly Habeck, Yukon, OK; 14 Grandchildren; and 15 Great
Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Emery and 2 sisters Georgie
Richardson and Carolyn Davis.
Vigil Service will be 7:00 PM Sunday at Burkhart Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Monday at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Dodge City,
with Fr. Louis Hoang presiding. Friends may call from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Sunday at Burkhart Funeral Chapel, Dodge City. Burial will be in Holy Cross
Cemetery, Windthorst with Full Military Rites by VFW Post #1714.
The family suggests memorials to Meals on Wheels or the Sacred Heart School
Endowment Fund, both in care of Burkhart Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave.,
Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
