PORT HURON - Mrs. Shirley Boerckel, 95, of Port Huron, died in her residence
Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999. She was born July 3, 1904 on Pelee Island, Ontario,
to the late Huldah and George Vander Dasson. After her marriage to Louis
Boerckel in 1920, she moved to New York City. She lived in New York until
1984, when she moved to Port Huron. Mrs. Boerckel was a homemaker her entire
life and, while living in Port Huron. belonged to the Golden Agers. Mrs.
Boerckel is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Boyce of Port Huron: a
granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. William (Pamela) Watt of Port Huron; two great
granddaughters, Mr. and Mrs. Scott (Melissa) Fleet and Stephanie Watt; and
two great great granddaughters, Courtney and Allie Fleet. She was preceded
in death by a brother, William Vander Dasson, in May 1944 in the Canadian
Air Force; and two sisters, Ardell Vander Dasson and Juanita Sumja. A
memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 1999, in
Pollock-Randall Funeral Home, Port Huron. Dr. Richard D. Lobb will
officiate. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
