FARMINGTON, N.M. - Emmitt Culver, 66, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Cope Memorial Chapel with Steve
Carrington, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens with
Military Honors provided by VFW Post 2182.

Mr. Culver was born July 25, 1941, in Sayre, Okla., to Dwight and Birdie
Culver. Emmitt served his country in the US Army and the Army National
Guard. He married his love Yvonne in 1972. Emmitt worked over 20 years for
BHP and currently was working for DXP - Safety Alliance. He was a member of
the Elks Lodge, Sportsman for Fish and Wildlife and a Lifetime Member of
NRA. Emmitt enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, children and
family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, and coin
collecting.

Emmitt was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife; and
step-grandchild, James Joplin.

Survivors include a son, Bill Culver and wife Tracy; step-sons, Don Joplin
and wife Trish, Bobby Joplin and wife Nancy, and Bernie Joplin and wife
Anna; daughters, Kimberly Jackson and husband Ervin and Tracy Culver;
grandchildren, Amber Jackson and Brandon Jackson; step-grandchildren,
Michelle Joplin, Ron Joplin, Jessica Joplin, Derek Joplin, Bethany Joplin,
Robert Joplin, and Adam Joplin; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters,
Chris Hauser and husband Bob and Clara Culver and husband Larry; and two
brothers, Earl Culver and Philip Culver.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Cope Memorial Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Ron Joplin, Derek Joplin, Greg Gomez, Steve Martinez,
Kody Selman, and Chris Coury.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be to the New Mexico Heart
Association, 2201 San Pedro NE, Building 2, Suite 102, Albuquerque, N.M.
87110.
