MSgt. USAF (Ret'd.) Monte F. McPhaul was born January 30, 1931 in McDade,
Texas to Gaston and Grace McPhaul. He was called from this life on October
11, 2008 in Temple, Texas. Monte served in the U.S. and in the European
Theater during WWII and later retired as a MSgt. from the US Air Force. He
was preceded in death by: his parents, his wife Dorothy, a son Glen Allen
McPhaul, a brother John T. McPhaul. He is survived by: a son, James Lynn
McPhaul of Bastrop; a daughter, Linda Kay Edwards of Smithville;
step-daughters, Robin, April, and Mitzi; a step-son, Roy; grandchildren,
Sherrie Kay, Trisha, Shaun, Cory and Courtney; step-grandchildren, Michael,
Michelle, Laura, Karie, John and Brian; seven great-grandchildren; a
brother, Travis E. McPhaul; and sisters, Mary Park and Iris Hayes. The
family will receive guests at Elgin Funeral Home in Elgin,Tx from 6:00 p.m.
to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, October 14, 2008. Funeral services will be
1:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, October 15, 2008 at Elgin Funeral Home
Chapel. Burial will follow in the McDade Cemetery in McDade,Texas with Full
Military Honors. In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to the
American Cancer Society.

McPHAUL, Monte Frederick, 77, retired Air Force master sergeant, of McDade
died Saturday. Visitation 6 p.m. today, Elgin Funeral Home, Elgin. Services
1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Elgin. Burial McDade City Cemetery.
