JOHN W. McREYNOLDS, age 88, passed away on November 27, 2008 in The
Woodlands, Texas. Memorial services will be held at Starrett Funeral Home in
Paris, Texas at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 9, 2008, with the Rev. Marcia
Miscall officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in
Paris,Texas. John was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on November 7, 1920 and
moved to Austin, Texas as a child. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force
during World War II in the United States and Europe. John married Lillian
Leach in Kansas City, Missouri in 1946. He was a member of Kappa Sigma
Fraternity at the University of Texas where he graduated in 1948 with a BBA
in Accounting and Business Law. John joined Continental Oil Company in San
Antonio, Texas and later served as Division Land Manager in Corpus Christi,
TX and Houston, TX. He transferred to Ponca City, Oklahoma in 1963 and was
Manager of Mineral Lease Records until retirement from Conoco Inc. in 1983.
John and Lillian moved to The Woodlands, Texas in July of 2007. John was a
charter member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen and served
on the Board of Deacons and Board of Trustees of First Presbyterian Church
in Ponca City,OK. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lillian
McReynolds, son, John W. McReynolds and wife, Ann of Dallas, Texas, son,
James R. McReynolds and wife, Debbie of Houston, Texas and daughter, Jane
Ann Byroad and husband, Bob of Houston, Texas and nine grandchildren. A
memorial fund has been established at the First Presbyterian Church, 1505 E.
Grand Ave., Ponca City, OK 74604.
