Edna Jean "Aunt Bobbie" Welge, age 82, passed away Monday, December 1, 2003
peacefully in her home. She was a lifelong resident of San Antonio. Jean was
born September 23, 1921. She graduated from Harlandale High School and went
on to study at San Antonio College. Her work years were as a Civil Service
employee at Ft. Sam Houston and Kelly A.F.B. for over 25 years. Jean was
baptized as a child at Harlandale Church of Christ and spent many years
there until moving to MacArthur Park Church of Christ where she was an
active member until her death. Her true loves in her life were her God and
Church, her beloved husband who preceded her in death, and her family. Jean
is preceded in death by her husband Claude Curtis "Jr.", mother, father,
brother, and two sisters. She is survived by her sister and husband, Willie
Mae and Roland Fenske; brother, Norman V. Goar; sister-in-law, Ivy Welge;
her favorite niece and nephew, Edna Mae and Ronald Becker; and numerous
other nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her
and that were touched by her life.
