Loretta Henin Newman McCurry, 79, went to plant her eternal garden (or is
fishing in the pool of eternal life) on Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at Paris
Regional Medical Center in Paris, TX.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at the funeral home
chapel with Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating, the Rev. Jack Graham bringing
the eulogy and the Rev. Larry Solice officiating during the graveside
service at Friendship Cemetery.

To celebrate her life, friends and family are received from 6 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday at Bright-Holland Funeral Home.

She was born Sept. 4, 1929, in Yuba, Okla., the daughter of Mable Nabors and
Wilford Henin. She married William Henry "Bill" Newman on April 6, 1946, in
Yuba. He preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1980. Dexter McCurry Sr. brought
her joy with marriage on Oct. 7, 1989, in Paris TX.

She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was a charter member of
Prairiland FFA. She and her late husband, Bill, owned and operated Newman
Catfish Farm.

She was rejoined on the streets of gold by her late husband; her parents; a
sister; four brothers; and a close friend, Donnie Crafton.

She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Delores
Gordon and husband, Bud; daughter, Jannie Thompson and husband, Johnny;
daughter, Connie Howard and fiancé, Dennis Porterfield; son, William Newman
and wife, April; and son John Newman and wife, Stacey; stepdaughter, Susie
Spencer and husband, Bobby.

Also, she is survived by her pride and joy, her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren, Justin Gordon and wife, Leslie, and children, Colton
Cade and Taylor, Jana Smallwood and son, Jett, Dustin Cook and wife, Jamie,
and children, Jenna and Carter, Tim Thompson and children, Bralen, Brooke
and Tate, Kendall Thompson and wife, Stormi, Dana Wolfe and husband, Ryan,
Amber Maynard and husband, Bryan, Mallory, Dakota, Emily, Eli and Easton
Newman, Blake and John Henry Newman, Jeanette Minerd and husband, Butch and
children, Kandi, Andria and Ralph, Tonya Pope and husband, Tim, and
children, Rusty and Brandlyn; a sister, Juanita Cranson and her son, Frank
and family and her daughter, Kathy, and family. She will also be missed
dearly by her lifelong friends, Anna Hevron and husband, Donald "Bucky,"
whose children she counted as her own, Nelson and wife, Sharon, Don Mark and
wife, Kim and David; grandchildren, Dylan, Zachary, and Jessica Hevron and
Clifton Mitchell and Dalton and Lauren Coursey.

Although her family was her greatest hobby, she loved to fish, work in her
garden and watch basketball.

Casket bearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

Honorary bearers will be great-grandsons.

If desired, in lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to
Friendship Cemetery, c/o Katy Allred, 121 CR 42370, Paris, TX 75462.
