HI Everyone,
Have an interesting "mystery" for all of you. Am hoping that someone is
working on this same family or has worked in this area and has some really
good ideas.
Hyman J. Wren - b. 1820 Ky - d. ???? NM
son of James Wren and Elizabeth Hightower
md - Harriet Trimble in Ark.
Hyman and Harriet had 5 children:
Matilda - 1843
William J. - 1845
Shadrack W. - 1849
Cyrus - 1850
Finis - 1856
This family is listed in the 1850 census of Izard Co., Arkansas
Then... in 1860 Harriet and children are listed in Fulton Co., Arkansas but
Hyman is gone.
Someone had provided a d. date for Hyman of 1868. However, that appears to
be wrong. Apparently Hyman moved and Harriet chose to stay in Arkansas.
Have found Hyman in 1860 in what is called Arapahoe Co., Kansas Territory.
In 1861 that area became Colorado Territory so he was really in Colorado.
In 1870 I found him in Mora Co., NM with what appears to be another family.
They are listed as:
Wren, Hyman - 50 - blacksmigh - Ky
Nestor, Estefula - 36 - NM
Wren, Juanita - 5 - NM
Cyrus - 2 - NM
Then I found this:
Mora Co., NM - Guardianship Records 1882-1889
Guardianship Appointment
Juan Jose Gallegos for Francisco Sales Wren, abt age 17 & Ma Esquepula de los
Delores Wren
Guardianship Appointment
Abundio Gallegos for Ma Exquepula de los Delores Wren
Both are dated 3 Mar 1885
So... am thinking that Hyman and his 2nd family had at least 3 children:
Juanita, Cyrus (Sales), and Delores.
Then... in the 1880 census for Mora Co., NM I found this entry.
Abundio Gallegos - 21 - NM
Juana - wife - md - 14 - NM
Saves Ruiz - b-i-l - 9 - NM
Estifuela Ruiz - s-i-l - 6 - NM
Could the wife Juana be Juanita. The age would fit the 1870 census. The age
for "Saves" does not really match Cyrus..... but......??? And could the
Estifuela age 6 be Delores. BUT... the Ruiz is really throwing me.
Anyone have any ideas?????
