Subject: Here's your chuckle for the day
Date: Tue, 3 Sep 1996 05:37:52 -0700
It has been drawn to my attention over the past twenty-four hours that
people are confused. With a name like "Jerry" I have become accustomed to
people assuming that I am a male. Because of this, I thought nothing of the
fact that my "internet friend," Kate Alcock, who so graciously posted my
"Beginning Cherokee Research" before I had a web page, had added a tag at
the end of the page suggesting that people write to the author (me) and that
"HE" (me again) would probably answer any questions.
Now some of these people have visited my web pages and read that I am a
wife, mother and grandmother, and they are CONFUSED.
To set the record straight. I am female. I am a wife, mother of five
children, and grandmother of five WONDERFUL grandchildren.
If you want an additional "chuckle" I'll tell you that my husband's name is
"Jimmie," and that's the way it is really spelled. Think how confused
people are when they meet us in person.
