Aloha Everyone and Hau'oli Makahiki Hou! (Hello and Happy New Year!)

I haven't had any luck in finding out where my elusive William was really

This is all I have for today. In Hawaii, in order to obtain a vital
record, you must know the island which the person was born, married or died
on, as well as the city. If any of you want to order any of the marriage
records, you can write to:

State of Hawaii, Department of Health
P. O. Box 3378
Honolulu, HI 96801

All vital documents are $10 for the first copy and $4.00 each for
duplicates. Be sure to include the city as well as the island of the
event. I have copied the indexes as they are, and it appears that some
names may have been misspelled by whomever originally created the
index(es). For instance, under the "Marriage Indexes" above, I believe
that the first name of the #4's groom was more than likely "Louis" and not
"Louise" but that's what the index says.

For #6 and #11, under the Marriage Indexes, I have noted the island in
parentheses. There are actually 5 "Waimea's" throughout the Hawaiian
islands, as there are many cities here with the same names but on different
islands, so when conducting research for Hawaii, you have to be very
careful to note the island because the State of Hawaii doesn't mind at all,
charging you $10 every time they have to search another island, even if you
have the registration and volume numbers!!! Be careful!

There are 8 major islands, but Kahoolawe is excluded from any sort of
genealogy research because it was used by the U. S. government for bombing
practice. Also, Niihau is a private island owned by the "Robinson" Family.
No access to that island is permitted without the sole permission of the
Robinson's. There are, however some records available if a person had left
the island to come to one of the other islands. If a person from Niihau
died on Maui, Hawaii, Oahu, Lanai, or Kauai, then most likely, there would
be a record of that person's death in the State Dept. of Health office.

If any of you are interested in any of the death notices/obituaries, please
let me know. I haven't been out to conduct my own research in a long time,
but I'm willing to do lookups for any of you when I'm able to. Also, if
anyone has any questions, please let me know!!

Have a wonderful New Year!!!

Aloha!
