Franklin,

Bless your heart......I know how you feel! I can tell you this though, names
can give you great clues on your ancestors. I have a really great wall
climbing story of my own.
My Great Grandfather's name was John Peyton Powell. He and his two sisters
where orphaned during the Civil War. They where raised by a man that was no
relation to them at all or least that we can find.
For years, we researched and dug and dug but came up with nothing. Then one
day I was visiting Huntsville AL and not doing any research at all. In the
center of the town was a metal plaque and on it was the name Peyton Powell!
It blew my mind to say the least! This first John Peyton Powell was a Rev.
War Hero from Loudon Cty, VA. This man was my John Peyton Powell's
Grandfather! As it turns out my Grt Grt Grandfather had ran away from home at
the age of 14 from Madison Cty Alabama and never returned. It was documented
in a book on VA Powell Families. So my John Peyton Powell was actually the
fourth named that!
I am going into all of this to hopefully lift your spirits and tell you not
to give up!
I am still seeking the parents of my Great Grandmother, Rachel Wright and it
is tough sometimes as I am sure everyone on the list agrees.
And Hey! WE ALL NEED TO VENT SOMETIMES DARN IT SO YOU GO FOR IT!
