My great grandfather was John WRIGHT who married Sula ANGLIN on August 20th,
1910 in Jackson Co. IL
His supposed date of birth was June 10, 1888 although I know he was never
really sure of his age.
I have heard two stories involving the death of his parents: That his mother
died in child birth of a younger brother and his father left him with a
family in Grand Tower, IL. Or, that both of his parents were killed at once
being hit by a train in Murphysboro, IL while driving their car. Either of
these events are supposed to have happened when he was approximately 10
years old. This makes the latter story less likely considering there were
very few cars at the turn of the 20th century. In fact, neither story may be
accurate but they are all I have to work with at this point.
John was supposed to have had at least two younger brothers. I have no names
for them. John himself was left alone with a family in Grand Tower as an
"endentured servant".
I have two possible names for his father: Richard or Matthew
I've heard one name for his mother: Lydia
Again, they may not be accurate as his past is so sketchy and the people who
have any information contradict each other. Respectively, I represent all
views in hopes that something may sound familiar to someone researching the
sibling's genealogy.
I know my g grandfather searched for his siblings/father for many years
before he died but with no luck. Any help or suggestions would be
appreciated.
