Pat, I have a William who, according to family members, was born in "Carolina" but the only records we have carry us to the Dalton, GA region. I've researched records in Dalton and have found several Williams who could be a match. In attempting to go back further, I've hit a wall. Maybe we can compare notes. I live in middle TN and can tell you that there are many Wright's in the Houston, Humphrey's and Stewart county region's. Some I've talked to seem to know they've come out of GA., but few know direct family lines. I'd enjoy comparing notes with anyone.

Tell me more. My Wrights were in South Carolina and went on to Tennesse.
I'm trying to find where. My John Wright was born in South Carolina in 1798,
he had a sister Sarah (Sally) born 1804 and a brother William. I do not know
the parents but know they went on early to Tennesse. In 1820 they were in
Illinois where John and Sarah married Smith siblings.
