I found your name and email address on the Putnam Co, IN page and I can't
find in my notes where I might have contacted you before. I am hoping that
you might be able to tell me something about the following family.

I am curious about the Era Wright listed above. I am researching the Riddle
families of Monroe & Morgan Co, IN and that search has led to some of the
Riddles moving into Putnam Co, IN.

I have a James E Riddle, born 1860 in Monroe Co, IN; twin of William Andrew
Riddle; son of William Thompson Riddle and Nancy M Anderson. He married a
woman named Era Wright 14 June 1890 in Monroe Co, IN. I believe they may
have had one son together, possibly named Harley.

This Era Wright was involved in the death of her brother-in-law, Rodolphus
"Doll" Judah in Sept 1892 in Salt Creek Twp, Monroe Co, IN. From the
newspaper account, Doll Judah came to the home of Richard Wright after his
wife Chloe Wright Judah. He was in a very drunken and violent state.

Era Wright Riddle & small son were living with her father Richard Wright
after being separated for some time from James E Riddle.

Doll Judah killed Era's father Richard Wright. Era then killed Doll Judah
with an axe to the forehead in self defense. A hearing was held and it was
found that she was "justified and acted in self-defense."

I believe that James Riddle came to Putnam Co, IN about 1899 where he married
a girl named Lulu Elliott and they had at least one child named Lemuel
Thompson Riddle about 1900.

Do you have anything that might indicate that the Era Wright in Putnam Co, IN
is the same from Monroe Co, IN?
