Thanks, Michelle for the great info you shared....and for living on top of
the place I have been trying to sort out for so long!

Thank you to all who responded to me as well. All efforts mean more than you
know as this has quest chased me across the Atlantic to my new home. You
have also made my lovely dad very very happy as well.

Cheers to all!

Hi Lauren,
Well it's a tiny place and easily missed, but I should imagine
it's on most Ordnance Survey maps - I found it in the Essex A-Z Street
Atlas published by the Geographer's A-Z etc. I can only find one nearby
Postcode: RM3 7LL - you will find that this is for Noak Hill Road but
Wrightsbridge really is only a stone's throw from it. I think
Wrightsbridge Road itself is CM14 but I do not know it's suffix.
The manor of Dagnam Park no longer exists and is now just a
large park (I used to go there kite flying as a child!), though intrepid
explorers can still find the remnants of the old manor house - literally
only the foundations remain. The manor was in the possession of the
Neave family for centuries, but I believe was purchased by the De
Dakenham family at one point hence the name - they also owned large
chunks of what would become Dagenham which is a few miles further
afield.
The Wrights of Wrightsbridge and Kelvedon Hatch had strong ties
with these areas as well as Upminster and Cranham, i.e. Cranham Hall.

I think it's a shame that the house and farm at Wrightsbridge have been
engulfed by that monstrosity the M25 - I am sure the aspect in former
days was pleasanter!

All the best, Michelle
.
