My grandfather, Edward James Wright, was, we think, born in Illinois in 1880 or 1981. He and his brother were put in an orphanage in Chicago, and then Edward was sent out to work for a Bertha Ryan in South Chicago or in Indiana near the Illinois border. He never saw his brother again and spent his life looking for him. We do not know the name of the orphanage, it later burned down, and we do not know his brother's name. We think that his father's name was James.
If anyone recognizes any elements of this story could you please reply.
