Subject: [WR] How to Determine Enumeration Districts

I am at a loss to figure out how to determine what enumeration district a subject may be in on the Census. If I do not have access to a prepared index to cut to the chase, I have to attempt a guess which ED my focus should have been located. It is difficult for me to figure that out with the descriptions I find written to describe a particular ED or Precinct used as a ED. I have thought possibly old maps might show that information, but can't find any that have such information.

Can anyone help me out with this dilemma? I really appreciate any assistance offered. A resolution to my problem would surely cut a lot of wasted fruitless research time.
