Basics for posting ANY inquiry for information are:
1. The names of persons.
2. The place you are searching. As an example, it
does not help to look for John Wright in MA, when your
John Wright came from TX.
3. Dates this is VERY important. You may not know
the actual date of whatever, but you should be able
to estimate an approximate range. Narrowing it down
to "about 1820-1850" helps a lot.
If you don't provide such information, you will get
garbage back, if you get anything at all.
You would never send a letter off asking for "The
birth record of James Smith", without providing
information about where and when, etc. So why would
you do it differently when putting out a request on
the Internet?
