The 1839 Wheeling directory lists the above company at 32 Union Street (Page 64) and S.W. Wickham, "one of the firm of Hall & Wickham" whose residence was 192 4th Street (Page 24).
I suspect the Hall in the above was the William Hall in the following census entry (I have added approximate birth years here based on the age in the census record):
1850 census, Ohio County, VA, Dist 44 (City of Wheeling, 2nd ward) enumerated 2 Oct 1850

>William Hall, age 52, auction merchant, born VA (1798)
>Margret Hall, age 46, born PA (1804)
>James M. Hall, age 25, engineer, born VA (1825)
>William C. Hall, age 24, clerk, b. VA (1826)
>Agness Hall, age 20, b. VA (1830)
>Samuel Hall, age 14, b. Va (1836)
>Elizabeth Hall, age 12, b. Va (1838)
>Henry H. Hall, age 10 , b. Va (1840)

Margaret Hall appears in the 1860 census but William does not, so I suspect he died between 1850-1860.
Any information on Hall & Wickham or on the William Hall family would be appreciated.
Thanks
Paul
