I am searching for information on the ancestors of Nancy (VAN METER)
ALBURTIS who was born in Martinsburg in the 1790's. She was married
to the newspaper editor John Van Metre ALBURTIS.

I have written to the BCHS and have been told there is a file on this
VAN METER family that is too large to copy. Although, I am thrilled
to learn that there is so much information on the line, I would still
like to know how I can find out more about this family.

I am just beginning my research into this line and know nothing about
the history of Berkeley County. I would appreciate any information
about books about the history of Berkeley County and the history of
this Van Meter family.
