Hello Mary,
You asked about the will of Joseph Ralston 1825,
It is found in Will book 4 in Washington Co. PA. my copy came with
2 pages - the 2nd ends with the word under- & so I think their may
be a third page with the very last of the will register stuff.
It is a typed copy on a extra large paper copy-10 1/2 by 16 in
sheet of paper. I tried to leave the spelling of it the way it was.

Will of Joseph Ralston of Washington Co. Pa
1st to my beloved wife Ellenor Halston,
(I figured this was perhaps a typo of for Ralston spelling? kd)
thee use of all my rail estate, to manage as she thinks best, or
proper, so long as she remains unmarried, for her use and the use of
my heirs, which are now with hir, but provided my sd wife should marry
then it is my will, that she receive the thirds of my rail estate, 6
head of horses young & old now on the premises. I allow for my sd
wifes's use and the use of my heirs, to labour sd farm, and to dispose
of to the best advantage for the use of hir and sd heirs, with hir
bead and covering and wearing apparel, to be at her disposel.
item; all horned cattle now on the farm to be disposed of to pay my
just debts....& remainder to be for the use of sd wife & heirs. To
eldest son William Ralston all land on which he now resides, ...&
all debts between him and mee, & $5.00 to him 5 years after my decease,
Item gives elder daughter now Rebekah McGloughlin soum of $5.oo with
what she has already recd ...5yrs after decease.
Item gives Ann Ralston now Ann Iiles one sorrel horse, one heffer in
adition to one cow she took with hir with six sheep, the sum of five $
to hir or heirs, 5 yrs after my ..
Item gives Lizze one feather bead, covers, beaureau, breckfast table,
1/2 dozen chairs 1 horse & saddle & bridle the horse to be spared when
my said wife Ellenor may find convenient with 1 cow & heffer & 6 head
sheep 5 yrs after...sd Lizze is to labour for the benefit of the family,
as formerly.
Item gives my daughter Jane Ralston -one horse worth 45 $ saddle &
bridle..furniture & stock..5 yr.. sd Jane with the 2 younger boys to be
subjeck as formerly to their mother,
Item gives 2 youngers sons Paul & Joseph Ralston the farm on which I
now reside, to be equally divided between them, 5 yrs after my youngest
son Joseph, arives to the years of 21, in case of my sd wifes decease,
but all remains in hir hand & under hir controle during hir natural
life, & further, it is my will that my brotheringlaw John Reed, be
supported out of my real estate, during his natural life, if he lives
with the family, and further, my will is that if either of my said sons
Paul or Joseph Ralston, should depart this life before the exipation of
the above tine, dying without lawful issue his sshare devovs on the
surviver, but having lawful ishue it descends to them, and in case of
both their deaths without lawful ishue, then my will is the sd land on
which I now live,
be sold & equally devided amongst the surviving heirs, or their lawful
ishue, with my son William receiving 150 dollars over and above his
devidend of sd estate, & further it is my will that my 2 sons Paul &
Joseph Ralston when the arive to the years of 21 each shall have a
horse worth from 45 to 50 dollars value, & further I do constitute &
apoint my son William Ralston to be my hole & sole executor of this
my last will & testiment, hereby revoking all frormer wills by me
made, In witness ..Seal this 30th day of July in the year of our
Lord 1825.
