GRACE ADAMS
Grace O. Adams, 77, of Harrisville, died Monday, June 11, 2001, at Parkersburg.
She was born in Rutherford, Ritchie County, the daughter of the late William
Levi and Bertha Mae Deem Morton. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star,
Chapter 73, Grantsville, and Cantwell Church of Christ, and attended First
Assembly of God, Harrisville.
Surviving are two daughters, Lutricia Valentine of Harrisville and Roma Lucille
Nicholas of Orrville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Jerod "Jed" Valentine and Roma Jo
"Joey" Smith; two step-granddaughters; three great-grandsons; eight
step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Willie Lee Morton of Biglersville, Pa.;
and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley "Joney" Adams; one step-son,
Daris D. Adams; three brothers, Kenneth Deem, Sr., Lawrence Morton and Virgil
Morton; and two sisters, Oleta Nutter and Frances Ayers.
Services were held at McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, with Rev. Don
Blankenship officiating. Burial was in IOOF Cemetery, Harrisville. Order of
Eastern Star conducted a memorial service.

ULINEE "MIDGE" CRAWFORD
Ulinee "Midge" Crawford, 76, of Barberton, Ohio, died Friday, June 8, 2001, at
Magnolia Care Center.
She was born at Orma, the daughter of Roscoe and Jessie Summers. She retired
from Barberton Citizens Hospital as a lab technician after 27 years of service.
Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Choney Don Crawford; three daughters,
Barbara Muschkat of Barberton, Deborah Solosky of Kent and Donna Spraggins of
Leesburg, Ala.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Naomi Ball of Grantsville and
Dorma Crawford of Wadsworth, Ohio; and two brothers, Oswald Summers of Canal
Fulton, Ohio, and Lanny Summers of Massillon, Ohio.
Services were held at Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home. Burial was in
Greenlawn Cemetery.

NANCY "PEGGY" DAUGHERTY
Nancy Pearl "Peggy" Daugherty, 83, of Cambridge, Ohio, died Monday, June 11,
2001, at Good Samaritan Medical Center, Zanesville, Ohio.
She was born in Pink, the daughter of the late Samuel A. and Glenna Bissell
Greathouse. She was retired from Pfleuger Fishing Tackle, Akron, Ohio. She was
a member of Faith Chapel Church, Wetzel Chapter of Eastern Star #27, and
American Legion Post Auxiliary #21, all of Spencer.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Homer Daugherty; one step-son, Daniel
Daugherty of Cambridge; two step-daughters, Jean Daugherty and Judith Bishard,
both of Cambridge; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one niece, Linda
McCartney of Arnoldsburg; and two great-nieces, Robin and Beth McCartney, both
of Arnoldsburg.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Elbert Greathouse, and one
step-daughter, Peggy Conner.
Services were held at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, with Pastor Mike
White officiating. Burial was in Northwood Cemetery.

GLENNA LYNCH
Glenna L. Lynch, 84, of Arnoldsburg, died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at her home.
She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late John and Lula Garrett.
She and her husband owned and operated Lynch's Produce market at Corder Bridge
for many years. She was a member of Leatherbark Community Church, near
Arnoldsburg, and was a homemaker.
Surviving are one son, Robert Lynch of Spencer; one daughter, Dorotha Offutt of
Grantville, GA.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Lynch; two brothers, Willard
and Johnnie Garrett; and two sisters, Audie Parsons and Ruth Offutt.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Ben Kerby
officiating. Burial was in Gibson Cemetery, Arnoldsburg.

TOMMY WILLIAM NEWELL
Tommy William Newell, 80, of Grantsville, died Monday, June 18, in Louis A.
Johnson Veteran's Medical Center, Clarksburg.
He was born in Burnsville, the son of the late Cella and Iva Settles Newell. He
was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in the Air Mail Photo
Division of the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. He was a former chief of police in
Spencer and was a former carpenter. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge,
Grantsville.
Surviving are his wife, Clara Belle Newell; one son, James Newell of
Grantsville; one brother, Jack Newell of Clarksburg; four sisters, Penny, Mary,
Doris, and Faye; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, two brothers, and one sister.
Graveside rites will be held Friday, 2 p.m., at Sand Ridge Cemetery, with Rev.
Cleston Garrett officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by
Roane County American Legion Post #21. Visitation is on Friday, noon to 1 p.m.,
at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville.

CHARLES "BUSTER" PRITT
Charles Elden "Buster" Pritt, 75, of Grafton, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001,
in Elyria Memorial Hospital, Elyria, Ohio.
He was born in Gilmer County and lived in the Grafton/North Eaton area for 43
years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and Korean War and was a
member of Grafton Hunkson-Hysell VFW Post #3341. He retired in 1991 from Larson
Foundry as a core maker. He was a member of Rush Run Baptist Church, Stumptown.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Purcel and Carol Miller, both of Grafton; one
son, Doug Pritt of Elyria; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Erma Moore of
Glenville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Oleta, in 1996; five sisters; two
brothers; and two grandchildren.
Services were held at Blackburn Funeral Home, Grafton, with Rev. David Craven,
Pastor of North Eaton Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Butternut
Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Township, with Grafton VFW Post #3341 conducting military
honors.

ELIZABETH SHAFFER
Elizabeth Jane Shaffer, 61, of Walker, died Saturday, June 16, 2001, at
Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Roscoe and Georgia
Kelley Plant. She had been employed for 19 years at Ohio Valley Health Care
Center as a certified nursing assistant. She was a member of Camden Avenue
Church of Christ.
Surviving are her husband, Archie Shaffer; children, Michael Shaffer and Shelley
Shaffer, both of Davisville, and Mitchell Shaffer and Laura Lynn Shaffer, both
of Walker; three grandchildren; three brothers, Roy L. Plant of Parkersburg and
Robert Plant and James Plant, both of Grantsville; two sisters, Sharon Chadock
of Cambridge, Ohio; and Carolyn Shaffer of Grantsville; and several nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Staul and Dorotha Siers.
Services were held at Sunset Memory Gardens, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, with
Evangelist Brian Jones officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memory Gardens.

TYLER JAMES WESTFALL
Tyler James Westfall, infant son of Clyde P. and Lisa Parsons Riggs of
Grantsville, died at birth on Monday, June 18, 2001, at Roane General Hospital.
Surviving in addition to his parents are maternal grandmother, Virginia
Catherine Parsons of Grantsville, and paternal grandmother, Joann Westfall of
Grantsville.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, 2 p.m., at Hunt Cemetery, Big Bend.
