ROY PENTON HELMIC
Roy Penton (Junior) Helmic, 82, of Arnoldsburg, died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at Roane General Hospital.
He was born in Roane County, the son of the late Preston and Mary King Helmic. He was a World War II veteran having spent three years in the U.S. Navy Coast Guard.
Surviving are one step-son, John Norman and wife Freda of Orma; one son, Jim Helmick and wife Dawn of Millstone; one daughter, Janet Marks and husband Jack of Arnoldsburg; one grandson, Alex Marks of Arnoldsburg; and four granddaughters, Erin Helmick of Lakeland, Fla., and Ava Helmick, Hannah Burris and Crystal Marks, all of Millstone.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ona Norman Helmick; one step-grandson, John Dwayne Norman; three brothers, Darrell, Spencer and Albert Helmic; one sister, Verna Starcher; and step-mother, Orpha Tucker Helmic.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Carroll McCauley officiating. Burial was in Norman Cemetery, Beech.

HARLEY ELMER NELSON
Harley Elmer Nelson, 56, of Chloe, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at his home.
He was born at Mudfork, the son of the late Maynard Elton and Mandy Catherine Martin Nelson. He was an auto mechanic.
Surviving are three brothers, Donald Lee Nelson, Allan Ray Nelson and Richard Dale Nelson, all of Chloe; three sisters, Betty Lou Sisson of Chloe, Vivian Sue Carmichael of Ravenswood and Flista H. Hanshaw of West Salem, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Harlan Elton Nelson.
The body was cremated. Graveside burial services will be held Sunday, 2:30 p.m., at Coen Cemetery, with Darris Arnold officiating. Friends and relatives are welcome to attend.
