DONZEL DORSEY BUTLER
Donzel Dorsey Butler, 85, of Orma, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at home.
He was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late Roy and Martha Lowers Butler.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Lillie Butler; seven sons, Jack of Windham, Ohio, Kenneth, Frank, Clarence and Paul, all of Beech Road, Orma, Grover of Spencer and Bob of Follansbee; seven daughters, Marie Burrows of Garrettsville, Ohio, Carolyn Howell and Sharon Rucker, both of Wooster, Ohio, Genvea Rinehart of Follansbee, Peggy Hall of Beech Road and Esther Nichols and Pauline Drake, both of Spencer; 30 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Georgia Atkinson, Stella Hall, Dot Webb and Virgina Parsons.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ray Brannon, Clifford Butler, Nelson Butler and Dalpha Butler; four sisters, Gaye Smith, Genevieve Butler, Rushie Oglesbee and Lear Weirs; two grandchildren, Pamela Jean Butler and Heather Renee Rucker; and one great-grandchild, Joshua Lee Harris.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Jack Stump officiating. Burial was in Bailey Cemetery, Orma.

DARIUS WAYNE CUNNINGHAM
Darius Wayne Cunningham, 59, of Duck, Clay County, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2005, at Braxton County Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Braxton County, the son of Letha Cunningham of Duck and the late John Holly Cunningham. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam War, a member of Vietnam Combat Group, Charleston, and a former tire builder for UniRoyal, B.F. Goodrich and Michelin. He attended Hallburg Baptist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Joan K. Cunningham; two daughters, Dana Collins and Amy Cunningham, both of Akron, Ohio; four brothers, Roger Cunningham of Akron, Leslie Cunningham of Ravenna, Ohio, Larry Cunningham of Duck and Jerry Cunningham of Hartville, Ohio; and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Cunningham.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m., at Cunningham Cemetery, Buck Fork, with Rev. Michael Jackson officiating and military graveside rites. Visitation was scheduled Wednesday, 5 to 9 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg.

DENSIL PAUL GUMM
Densil Paul (Jack) Gumm, 76, of Grantsville, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, at his home.
He was born in Ritchie County, the son of the late Forest Lake and Hester Dailey Gumm. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, and was discharged in 1952. He retired as a pipeline foreman, working 25 years for Carl E. Smith Construction Co. and 10 years for Ron Lane, Inc. He was a farmer and winner of the County and District Conservation Farmer of the Year Award in 2004. He attended Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Maxine Frymier Gumm; four sons, Bill, John, Jim and Rick. eight grandchildren, Nick, Katie, Maranda Parker, Nathan, Brittany Blake, Landon, Michaela and Brody Gumm; one great-grandchild, Triston Parker; stepmother, Phebe Gumm; and two sisters, Ruby Bailey and Connie Badgett.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Rapp, and two brothers, Jennings (Mutt) and Burl Gumm.
Services will be held Friday, 3 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, Burial will be in Hardman Chapel Cemetery, near Smithville. Visitation will be on Thursday, 6 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.

DENNIS LEE RICHARDS
Dennis Lee Richards, 57, of Big Bend, died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, at his home.
He was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late Freeman and Marva Holbert Richards. He was a former employee of Alfab Co., Smithville, and Fenton Art Glass, Williamstown.
Surviving are four sisters, Dorothy Richards and Norma Stirling, both of Big Bend, Jill Goodnight of Brohard and Brenda Freed of Charleston; two brothers, Denver Richards of Walker and Denzil Keith Richards, Sr., of Parkersburg; eight nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lola Katherine Richards and Darlene Sue Richards.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville.

RICHARD STUMP
Richard N. Stump, 51, of Sand Ridge, died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2005, at Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial Division.
He was born in Calhoun County, the son of Grace Haught Stump of Sand Ridge and the late Rev. Warder E. Stump, Jr. He was a volunteer fireman and a member of First Baptist Church, Grantsville.
Surviving are one brother, Charles H. Stump of Sand Ridge; two sisters, Emily Gainer of Grantsville and Evelyn Fulks of Millstone; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Greg Swisher officiating. Burial was in Sand Ridge Cemetery.

DENVER TANNER
Denver D. Tanner, 41, of Arnoldsburg, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005, at home.
He was born in Spencer, the son of A. Gale and Frances L. Ash Tanner of Arnoldsburg. He worked for Slurry Paving of Richmond, Va., and drove tractor-trailers.
Surviving are one daughter, Sharon Frances Tanner of Indiana; one son, Dusten Lee Tanner at home; four sisters, Kathy Tanner of Sand Ridge, Veronica May of Arnoldsburg, and Joyce Crouser and Kimberly Tanner, both of Micro, N.C.; and six brothers, Howard Tanner of Akron, Ohio, James and Kevin D. Tanner, both of Ravenswood, Michael and Kevin G. Tanner, both of Princeton, N.C., and Keith Tanner of Smithfield, N.C.
Services will be held Thursday at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Burial will be in Tanner Family Cemetery, near Arnoldsburg. Visiting hours were scheduled Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
